The following writings are predictions of the future, ranging from the years 2016 through 2450, but focusing mostly on the latter date. It has been specifically modified to fit the RP at http://theclaudia.proboards45.com. For the sake of orginization I am breaking this up into several posts.
Politics: Though the entire solar system has been colonized, the old Earth countries still exist, only they are no longer in earth. The major world (or solar) powers are the United States, Japan, China, and Russia. Many of the smaller countries have joined the bigger ones, and only a few small countries remain independant, such as the middle east, Austrailia, most all of Europe, and Much of Africa. Europe and Austrailia are wealthy, but not extremely powerful.

Species
Humans Naturally needing very little explanation, given that you (hopefully) are one, the human race is most commonly known for its improvisation, individual genius and ingenuity that separates it from most animals and the aliens in science fiction
Artificial Intelligence This species is super intelligent, can multi-task hundreds of things at a time, process data instantaneously and never ages. On top it is completely capable of learning and thinking for itself, too. However, realizing the potentially dangerous aspects of this man-made race (the Matrix probably comes to mind here), humans have removed any aspect of conquering and rebellion from the AI. Also, the computer wasn’t given a physical form, and instead was mainly manufactured as a brain implant. It is relatively quiet unless specifically addressed, and only a select few posses the implants.
The AI is a constant companion, using the brain to create a similar personality so the pair gets along perfectly, giving each other advice, having casual conversations and generally keeping each other company. For safety reasons the computer isn’t implanted until the brain is finished developing, and proper tests must be performed to determine whether or not it is a good idea to give you one. (Those with drug addictions, criminal records, etc.)
The implant also sends probes throughout your body, to act as super-powerful, thinking white blood cells that can identify and eliminate any virus. With a 100% healthy body, the average human could actually live up to 150 years (give or take). The AI can also substitute as computer, and is completely mind operated.

Planets
Installed about 35 years ago, the entire solar system is interconnected using an advanced warp gate system. Massive gates that orbit around each planed and a few moons allow for the contaiment and manipulation of a space-tear, or wormhole. Each leads to another gate near some other planet. The gates have been refined and pefected so that in all its working there has not been one mishap. It is impossible to contain a wormhole without the use of these gates, so as of yet nobody has been able to put a wormhole generator on their spacecraft.
Mercury:
Mercury’s environment is much to harsh to be colonized, or even to support a space station because of its distance from the sun, this planet is being completely ignored.
Moons: None
Venus:
Contains minor mining projects but is mainly one large city. It has several space stations in its orbit. The planet is mostly devoted to homes, and apartments as well as many other public buildings. Because the atmosphere is already filled with toxic clouds, pollution isn't a concern and there is nothing to prevent the rise of gigantic factories. About 40 years ago the planet was mostly a gas and mineral mining operation, and refinaries still dot the landscape outside of the cities.
Moons: None
Earth (Terra)
This planet, the birthplace of life as we know it, is nothing like it once was. As populations rose drastically and environmental protection was ignored, Terra became a steadily less desirable place to live. All but the poorest citizens shipped off to live better lives on some other planted, leaving earth with only those in extreme poverty. The once wealthy nations have since been nearly abandoned. The cities have been reclaimed by nature, crumbling and overgrown. In places like Africa, India and the Middle East people live life in near anarchy ignored by civilization save an occasional supply drop from the Neo-UN.
Moons: Moon (Luna)-Composed mainly of scattered cities within craters protected by clear domes. The moon domes are designed to look somewhat like Old Earth, including cities, homes and parks.
Mars:
One of the largest projects of the millennium, Mars has been terraformed completely and now contains oceans, plants, houses, cities, and generally has become what Earth once was. It has several home and research space stations. It is the most economically prosperous of the planets, green, beautiful and well maintained.
Moons: Phobos-A large city that contains only homes, personal businesses, and shopping centers. Phobos also contains a large underground hotel and apartment complex.
Demos-This planet, unlike Phobos, contains only businesses and large factories. This way, those who live on Mars or its other moon can go to Demos to work, while not being overwhelmed by big warehouses at home.
Asteroid Belt:
Due to its random, unorganized layout, the Asteroid belt is unfit for pedestrians. Instead, some of the larger rocks have been carved out to create many military installations or very high priority science research stations, normally devoted to military purposes as well.
Jupiter:
Because of its perpetual storms and overall bad weather, nobody can actually live on this gas giant, so it is mainly put to use with gas extraction and resource gathering. Jupiter is also able to hold a huge quantity of space stations that serve as homes, or Mining droid control centers.
Moons: Io-Very geologically active and completely incapable of being colonized. Instead, it is the home to a huge-scale mining operation and contains a giant geothermal power plant that gives energy to nearly anything in Jupiter’s orbit.
Europa-This moon is one of the most important in the Solar System. It is used to ship its large amounts of water to other worlds. It contains a few scattered cities and mining centers, along with a large space shipment facility, both above and underwater. Its water shipment helps make it a very successful trading moon.
Ganymede-A city that contains homes, businesses, mines and factories with several orbiting space stations. It also has a fairly large store of water under its icy crust, which makes it nearly as important resource-wise as Europa.
Callisto-Similar to Ganymede, but with a few less pedestrians, more military bases and factories, and without the water.
Metis, Adrastea, Amalthea, Leda, Himalia, Lysithea, Elara, Ananke, Carme, Pasiphae, Sinope and Thebe-These moons are so small that they were probably asteroids that got trapped in Jupiter’s orbit. They are mined and dismantled for their resources. Most of the minerals are used to create buildings and space stations.
Saturn
Saturn, due to its rings, is a difficult planed to put space stations around. However, its 30+ moons help by supplying space to put several mine probe control stations on. Saturn too is being mined for its gasses.
Moons: Pan, Atlas, Epimetheus, Janus, Calypso, Helene, Hyperion, Phoebe, Pandora, Prometheus and Telesto-These moons are very small and are either mining probe control centers or are being completely mined themselves.
Enceladus, Mimas, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, and Iapetus- These moons are mostly cities, but several contain water and serve similar purposes as Europa. These moons also have many orbiting space stations that serve many purposes as well.
Uranus
As with all other gas giants, Uranus is mined for gasses by robots controlled by satellites, that also act as houses.
Moons: Cordelia, and Bianca, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Belinda, and Puck-These moons are probably asteroids or comets that got caught in Saturn’s orbit. They are all being mined.
Bianca and Ariel-These moons have little resources and are one giant city and nothing else. Containing everything but mining facilities. They also house many satellites.
Titania, Miranda, and Oberon-These moons are about half devoted to mining and half cities. They, too have several space stations.
Neptune:
Neptune is treated the same as any other gas giant. It has many space stations, since it has no ring, and is mined by robots controlled by humans from some space stations.
Moons: Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus, Nereid-Small and oddly shaped, nobody lives on these rocks, which are mined out by both humans and robots for their recourses. Triton-This large moon is designed to be fairly natural looking, so you don’t have to go nearly as far to find a park of any kind. It has many domes what include houses, many small cities, parks, and pretty much everything that “Old Earth” had, on a slightly smaller scale.
Pluto
This small planet has such faint light, that many satellites have had to be set up that supply the planet with light similar to the sun’s. It is small enough that it was fairly easy to turn into a life-supplying planet. It was given an atmosphere, the sun satellites, a gravity enhancement drive was planted in it’s core to give it Earth-gravity, and plants and water from Europa were shipped to it. It has a few fairly larges, but no real cities.
Moons: Charon-This moon is almost the exact size of Pluto, so it was also turned into a sort of earth, though not like its neighbor. This moon is a giant city and mining facility. Most people live on Pluto and work on Charon. There’s actually a pipe that was built between the planets, so people don’t need to board their spaceships to go to a place “so close to home.”

Technology
Using the fairly recent advances in nanotechnology, the Herzog-Calvin Reactor is created. It emulates the natural process of photosynthesis to break down carbon dioxide and store the energy in sugar. This comes as a boon to all nations of Earth, as overpopulation taxed both the food supply and increased pollution.
A Carbon-dioxide conversion engine is developed to convert CO2 into either natural gas or a carbon compound for use in construction. This proves to be effective when Venus' atmosphere is mined for both the CO2 and access to its surface.
Hydrogen power is mainstream, especially with the possiblity of mining hydrogen ice from the various moons and errant comets. Hydrogen engines are clean, streamlined and efficient, though larger ships use Helium-3 engines due to the increased power. Helium-3 is also used to power the many lunar colonies, though some poorer nations still rely on dangerous nuclear fission.
Advances in quantum physics have led to the creation of the Casmir ZPE engine, which can bend spacetime such that a large spacecraft can travel at faster-than-light speeds. Such technology is a closely guarded secret, and even the materials to construct such engines are rare. Currently, only the capital ships of the UN and RCCP carry such drives.
Ion drives, though terrible for interplanetary travel, have become a staple for local flight. They are now available on all but the poorest-quality spacecraft.
Railgun technology has been improved, allowing projectiles to be magnetically accelerated out of the weapon. The projectiles can achieve tremendous velocities, especially in the vacuum of space, and are popular in capital warship construction.
Lasers, though ineffective compared to "Star Wars," have been improved for use in mining and a sort of artillery. A scaled-down version of the acts as a nearly limitless battery for the weapon, although each blast must be carefully timed to avoid critical overheating.

Factions
The Pacific Alliance - A loose military coalition between Japan, America and Australia. The combined military might of America and the technical prowess of Japan has produced spacecraft of superior quality and design. Research has also been conducted into the field of bionics, with the goal of creating a fully capable android soldier.
Russo-Chinese Communist Protectorate (RCCP) - A pseudo-Warsaw Pact that was formed between Russia and China, almost in direct opposition to the Pacific Alliance. Though lagging behind the Alliance in technological ability, the Protectorate has a staggering amount of human resources. It is unknown whether rumors of a Protectorate genetic modification program are true.
European Union (EU) - The European Union lost most of its military power in the Treaty of 2190, following the War. However, the economic power of the EU was not damaged and it remains a powerful force in its own right. Its massive financial assets guarantee the EU's neutrality in any conflict, even when its modest "security forces" are capable of holding their own. However, though lacking an army, elite special forces units still exist carrying out other duties. It is allied with, though not part of the Pacific Alliance.
The Terran Coalition - The Coalition, despite its name, is nothing more than a loose network of warlords who have grabbed power after the Terran Exodus. Much of the world's remaining population live, poverty-stricken, in the crumbling ruins of major cities. Most of the open country is either sparsely populated or barren from the wars of the 2100's.

WEAPONS TECH
Light Arms: In the years following the mass-exodus of Terra, few weapons companies prospered. The first of these was Colt/Luger. Formed by a merger in 2140, C/L makes the system's finest light arms. Many of the millitary grade pistols are heavy. Based off old models like the Desert Eagle, the vast majority of pistols have huge kickback and a smallish clip. Ranging from 10 - 15 rounds, these pistols weigh each around 6 pounds. They carry a heavy bullet, with a fracturing tip, good for killing unarmored opponents. The second type, issued to police forces and special ops who nead more silent weapons is the simple handgun. Quiet and with little kickback, but with less power and unable to pierce most standard millitary or police armor. Light Arms are banned to civilians by most of the major governments. Electricity-based stun weapons however are readily available for the average citizen.
Heavy Arms: The major Heavy Arms company is Heckler & Koch. Their adaptability to the Heavy Weapons Class is astounding. Ranging from the SMG to the Assault rifle, they have this category pegged. Most weapons have medium kickback, and large clips. Most clips are now loaded P90-style, from the top. They range in size from 40 - 250 rounds. The extremely heavy 250 round ASAW, or Adaptive Squad Assault Weapon, is quite rare, and only used in times of war. None of these weapons are available to the public.
Sniper Class: Designed by the Pseudo-Dragunov company, SENIX, they carry a small amount of sniper-type weapons. Long, deadly rounds come in 5 - 15 clips. One round can kill a man easily. Most are armor-piercing. Available solely to SPEC-OPS forces.
Rare Weapons:
XML9000 Minigun - This minigun is a weapon manufactured only by the most daring private companies. With its 750 round capacity, and huge RPM, it is a killing machine. It is often mounted on gunboats and assault vehicles. Extremely heavy.
FC250 - This rocket-launcher is very rare. In a world where siege vehicle are used only exclusively, the rocket launcher has become obsolete. This are only found in illegal scrap-yards and military rebellion juntas.
Rumors:
Plasma - Rumors of development of plasma-based weapons have spread far. The potential capacity for such destruction is unimaginable. Highly unlikely that such technology exists.
(more rumors to come as RP progresses)

Extra Information
Since most planets or moons in the Terran Sector lack a breathable atmosphere, powered infantry armor has become the norm for all combat situations. Its use is especially popular because the domed or otherwise inhabited areas are too precious for the bulk of fighting to take place there.

The Terran Sector on 50 Credits a Day A Guide to Major Locations Around the Solar System
Venus
![[image]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Valros/RP%20Banners/Venus-Pyrrhus.png)
Climate: Venus used to be the hottest planet in the solar system. Thanks to a major carbon-dioxide harvesting project during the early 23rd century, though, the planet's temperature has declined sharply. The average conditions range from 80ºF in the winter to 110ºF in the summer.
Terrain: Venusian terrain is low and smooth, thanks to millenia of acidic rain and extreme heat. Many active volcanoes also dot the surface, and rivers of lava are not uncommon. Visitors are advised not to leave the relative safety of the cities due to the unpredictability of the volcanic activity.
Major Cities: The spaceport and industrial city of Pyrrhus has become the dominant urban center on Venus. After the Venusian civil war of 2556 destroyed the former capital of Icarus, the new government relocated to Pyrrhus.
Nationalities: Native Venusians are mostly of Arabian or African descent, though the European Union was the first faction to colonize the planet. Now, the few descendants of the original Greek and Italian settlers form an aristocracy that does little to govern the planet.
Government/Allegiance: Venus is officially an aristocratic democracy, but the governing council has gradually lessened its role in Venusian society. The mining companies now govern most of the outlying settlements, and tension between them has generated speculation about a second civil war. Venus is loosely associated with the European Union.
Major Industries: Venus exports refined ores and heavy metals to the shipyards of the Terran Sector.
![[image]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Valros/RP%20Banners/Venus-Tartarus.png)
Other Locations: The plains of Tartarus, named after the fiery Greek underworld, are the site of the former Venusian capital of Icarus. The crumbling buildings are regularly dusted with sulfuric snow from nearby eruptions, which have grown progressively stronger over the last few decades.

Earth

![[image]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Valros/RP%20Banners/Earth2.png)
Major Cities: Most Terran cities were destroyed in a succession of wars that decimated the planet's urban centers. The lack of nuclear weapons, however, allowed Earth's natural ecosystem to stay intact. Certain cities, such as New York, Tokyo, Beijing, and Paris, were siezed by local warlords and have become armed city-states.
Nationalities: Being the birthplace of humanity, cultures of all kinds exist on Earth.
Government/Allegiance: The government of Earth has long since collapsed, leaving general anarchy and chaos. Armed city-states are the closest thing to government on the war-torn world.
Major Industries: Earth has no major industries save what refineries or factories are still operational after the wars.

Mars
![[image]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Valros/RP%20Banners/Mars-Tharsis.png)
Major Cities: The Martian capital is at Tharsis, but each city is effectively retains its sovereignity.
Nationalities: Most native Martians are of European descent, and the majority are British or Scandinavian.
Government/Allegiance: Mars is officially a democratic republic, and owes allegiance to the European Union.
Major Industries: Mars is home to the incredibly powerful European Exchange, a bank which regulates interplanetary trade as well as the credit system. The Exchange's headquarters occupy a full 5 square miles of downtown Tarsis.

The Terran Sector on 50 Credits a Day A Guide to Major Locations Around the Solar System
Jupiter (Europa)
![[image]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Valros/RP%20Banners/Europa-Tritonis.png)
Climate: Europa lacks an atmosphere, and its distance from the sun makes it bitterly cold. However, Jupiter's strong magnetic field creates charged particles that power the great dynamos that maintain life support for the undersea colonies.
Terrain: Europa is covered in a thick sheet of ice that hides an ocean of liquid water. The Jovian magnetic field warps the ice into deep fissures and jagged mountain ranges.
Major Cities: Tritonis is Europa's capital, and one of only three undersea colonies on that moon. The shipyard of Poseidonis is the primary shipyard of the Pacific Alliance. Europa's other colonies, Suicho and Yojiro, are relatively small and owned by the Japanese science ministry.
Nationalities: Europa's first colonists were American and Japanese, but in the spirit of the Pacific Alliance all nationalities are welcomed.
Government/Allegiance: Tritonis and the other colonies are democratic republics, but the shipyards are independent and are regulated by their respective corporations.
Major Industries: Aside from the shipyards, Europa's colonies house extensive water harvesting machinery. Fresh water is exported from Europa to every human colony past the Asteroid Belt.
Other Locations: Charybdis, the fourth colony on Europa, has been abandoned for some time and is in a considerable state of decay. It is rumored that the colony was attacked by some unknown Europan creature, but no solid information has come up...

Pictures Images of various areas within the Solar System
A space station, the only one of its kind, which orbits around the sun independantly from other planets, located between Neptune and Uranus. The property cost is enormous however, so only the wealthy live there.
